Biographical / Historical
Rev. E. Edward Kinerk, S.J.was installed as the 13th President of Rockhurst College on June 1, 1997, and served in that role until 2006. He attended St. Francis Xavier Grade School, Rockhurst High School and Rockhurst College, and was the first Rockhurst graduate to serve as President. Fr. Kinerk earned a BA in mathematics from Rockhurst before joining the Society of Jesus in 1966. He went on to get a Masters in Theology from Saint Louis University, and a Ph.D. in Spiritual Theology from the Gregorian University in Rome. He was ordained in 1972.

Before accepting the Presidency, Fr. Kinerk served at the Sacred Heart Jesuit Retreat House, was the provincial for the Missouri Province of Jesuits, and was on the Board of Trustees for Regis University and Rockhurst College. During his presidency, the school was renamed Rockhurst University, a pedestrian mall and bell tower were built, several buildings were renovated, the community center and Greenlease Gallery opened, and the Loyola Park Athletic complex was built.

Scope and Contents
This collection contains Inaugural material, correspondence, photographs, and a DVD. This series ts part of the
legacy collection, and has little original order and unknown provenance.
