The Open Research Library is a hosting platform initiated and maintained by Knowledge Unlatched and BiblioLabs. It makes freely accessible scientific book publications, as well as other high-quality academic Open Access content, available to anyone for free use anywhere in the world.
MOBIUS joined the Open Textbook Network, an alliance of hundreds of colleges, universities, and consortia partners working together to advance the use of open textbooks in higher education, in the summer of 2017. Textbook affordability is a major concern on college campuses throughout the United States and this is an exciting partnership that allows us to provide member libraries with tools and services that will assist them in building sustainable open textbook programs on their campuses. MOBIUS membership means that all of our member libraries, including Rockhurst, will have access to OTN resources and trainings.
The MOBIUS OER Commons Hub was created to support the affordability and Open Educational Resources initiatives of our member institutions, promote collaboration between members on issues related to OER, and develop a consortium-wide repository of high quality OER content for faculty use, increasing academic success and reducing costs for students across the consortium. MOBIUS members can now curate collections of OER content tailored to the specific needs of their faculty and students, and contribute to consortium-wide subject collections of materials.
