Interlibrary Loan

Is it in the library?

Before you spend time and effort filling out pages and pages of Interlibrary Loan forms, first check to see if the items are in the library.

Journal Articles

  • When searching for a journal article, use the Rockhurst catalog.  The catalog will tell you if an item is in print or in one of our databases.  If it is in one or several of our databases, the catalog will link to the databases.
  • In the catalog, search for the title of the journal, not the title of the article.  Authors and journal articles are not indexed in the catalog, only titles of journals.  For more information about how to read citations, see the citation guide.

Books

  • First search the Rockhurst catalog to see if the items is in our library.
  • Then, search the MOBIUS catalog to see if the item can be reqeusted through MOBIUS.  Requesting books through ILL can take up to 3 weeks for an item to arrive.  Requesting through MOBIUS is much faster (average of 3-5 days) and easy for you to do.  For more information about how to request items through MOBIUS go to the request MOBIUS books guide.
