Faculty Reserves

Rockhurst Chat

Introduction

Welcome to the Faculty Reserves guide

Faculty reserves are materials placed in the library and/or kept at the circulation desk that are specific to a class the professor is teaching.  These materials can be required readings, supplemental learning materials, old tests, music or videos, study guides, etc.  Items can be placed on reserve at any time during the semester, and will be taken off reserve at the end of the semester or any other time during the semester if the professor so wishes.

Items submitted for reserves will be processed as soon as possible based on staff availability and the number of submissions waiting to be processed.  Please allow 2-3 business days for your items to be processed and made ready for checkout. You will receive an email when the items you place on reserve have been processed.

The library does not accept responsibility for personal items placed on reserve that may become lost or damaged while they are on the reserve shelves. If the item(s) to be placed on reserve is/are deemed valuable or irreplaceable, faculty may want to consider not placing those items on the reserve shelves for student use. If personal items are damaged or lost, the library staff will notify the faculty member and it is his/her responsibility to provide replacement material. Reserve checkout records are confidential and will not be made available to faculty members.

About Reserves

Reserve Guidelines

Reserves are intended to allow faculty to provide temporary support materials for their students.

The collection is not intended for restriction of materials from the library's permanent collection in order to permanently block access of materials from eligible borrowers.

Faculty who wish to use items from our circulation collection for supplemental teaching materials should check out the items on their library accounts.
